Terms of Service

By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

You may browse the Site without registering. Certain features, including placing orders, managing a registry, and applying as a maker, require a registered account.

When you register, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your account credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or otherwise harm the community.

For Buyers

As a buyer, you agree to:

• Provide accurate shipping and payment information
• Communicate respectfully with makers and our team
• Use the Site only for lawful purposes

For Makers

As a maker, you additionally agree to:

• List only goods that are handcrafted by you and sourced from the San Juan Islands or the greater Salish Sea region
• Accurately describe all products, including materials and dimensions
• Fulfill orders promptly according to your stated processing times
• Not list counterfeit, prohibited, or mass-produced items
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding the sale of goods, including food safety and tax collection where required

All payments on Salish Sea Crafts are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the total amount of your order, including applicable taxes and shipping fees.

Prices are displayed in US dollars. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a pricing error is discovered after your order is placed, we will contact you before proceeding.

Makers receive payouts on a schedule determined by Salish Sea Crafts, less our platform fee. Current fee schedules are provided in the Maker Dashboard.

Shipping times and costs are set by individual makers and displayed at checkout. Salish Sea Crafts is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs, or circumstances outside our control.

Risk of loss for purchased items passes to you upon delivery to the shipping carrier. We encourage you to retain tracking information until your order arrives.

Because our products are handcrafted by independent makers, return policies may vary by seller. Each product listing displays the applicable return policy.

General guidelines:

• Items that arrive damaged or significantly different from their listing description qualify for a refund or replacement. Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos.
• Custom or personalized orders are generally non-refundable unless defective.
• Perishable food items are non-returnable.

All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Salish Sea Crafts or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Makers retain ownership of their product images and descriptions. By listing products on the Site, makers grant Salish Sea Crafts a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and promote their listings on the platform and in marketing materials.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our express written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salish Sea Crafts shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any products purchased through it.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
